Bethany Smith Attends the 2023 CREW Network Spring Leadership Summit as Crew Nova Scotia Delegate

This multifaceted meeting brought together the top leaders in CREW Network to learn from one another about chapter management, but also heard from leading experts about the critical leadership skills that give you the business advantage. It was a great opportunity to increase their abilities as board leaders as well as advance their careers through leadership development workshops.

The summit included influential speakers such as Kristi Hedges with the Power Presence and Merrick Rosenberg with Take Flight Learning. Also speaking at the Summit was CREW Network President, Alyssa Dangler and Cathy O’Connor of Coalign Group. The event was an excellent networking opportunity with some incredible professionals in the real estate industry.

Here’s what Bethany had to say about her experience:

“The Leadership Summit in Oklahoma was an extraordinary event for personal and industry growth as well as networking. The two speakers Merrick Rosenberg and Kristi Hedges taught valuable lessons.

We learned what our at home and work style personality was and how this contributes to leading at your best and leading under stress. We also learned about the Pygmalion Effect, which describes situations where someone’s high expectations improves our behavior and performance. High expectations for our performance don’t only impact us, but also impacts how they act. For example, if a teacher believes one of their students has potential, they may tend to give them more detailed feedback and continue to challenge them. This leads to unequal treatment among students and some may fall behind while others thrive. I learned that to overcome this we need to listen, support others and recognize their value.

The networking side of the event allowed me to meet amazing members within CREW and no matter what you have to offer or your level of experience, you will always meet others readily available offering guidance and being truly vested in your growth. It was an event I will never forget; thank you CREW Nova Scotia for providing this opportunity.”
